IMG_4572Following on from the success of their MOM JEANS EP and debut UK tour, South Carolina’s HEYROCCO return with ELSEWHERE, a slice of angular guitar pop from their forthcoming album TEENAGE MOVIE SOUNDTRACK.

HEYROCCO wowed audiences with their explosive live shows on their winter UK tour, including a Sold Out Headline slot to 1400 people for Club NME @ KOKO.

With their Soundcloud hitting over 250k plays over the last six months, it’s clear theat their brand of 90’s-inspired ‘disney-grunge’ is connecting with a whole new generation of fans.

With 6 weeks to go until ‘Elsewhere’ is officially released it has already been added to the Main Playlist for Danielle Perry’s Xfm Evening Show and has early support from Phil Taggart at BBC’s Radio 1.

The debut UK/European release from South Carolina’s HEYROCCO is out now.

It is available at all good digital retailers, as well as on Ltd. Edition 12″ Vinyl from the band’s webstore:

The band celebrated by heading into the XFM studios to record a live session, which will be broadcast soon!

With our emphasis always being on long-term development of our artists, Vital’s North London studio has seen a flurry of activity since opening it’s doors over the summer, allowing us to offer our artists a space to grow and explore.

In the coming months, we look forward to announcing some formidable new signings who are currently hard at work in the studio developing their sound.

In the 6 weeks since VMG launched Heyrocco’s first single ‘Virgin’, the South Carolina-bred trio have been exciting music fans and critics alike with their new breed of dark yet nostalgic rock’n roll.

XFM’s John Kennedy was one of the first to recognise the band’s talents, quickly making ‘Virgin’ his XFM X-Posure Big One for the week.

CLASH Magazine soon followed, premiering the band’s gritty video (see above) saying of the track “..darkly nostalgic vibe – worthy of, say, Radiohead’s much neglected ‘Pablo Honey’ full length” CLASH

Kerrang Radio’s Jake Thomson chose Virgin to be his Single of The Week.

Whilst Gigwise and NYLON had this to say:

“You know those perfect songs that soundtrack your summer of late nights, romance and hedonism? Well, HEYROCCO have just dropped one.” Gigwise

“Cue the light wash denim jeans and tattoo chokers because Heyrocco’s new single launches us right into 90’s teenage movie nostalgia. Like these Southern sweethearts, we admittedly might not have been the coolest kids in high school—but at least we can pretend like we were while listening to some 90’s inspired rock and roll.” NYLON

With the band’s debut UK and European Tour fast approaching, their new single ‘Melt’ can be heard here:

‘Melt’ is available as a Free Download at the band’s website from Monday 4th August – Sign up here for regular Heyrocco updates and be the first to hear their new music.

The new video for “Virgin” is playing now over at clashmusic.com. Here’s what they had to say:

High School can be a helluva tough time.

Yet, as testing as it can be, High School can also supply grist for the creative mill – something to kick against, in other words.

Hailing from South Carolina, HEYROCCO are clearly aware of this. New single ‘Virgin’ is set in high school, with its corrosive mixture of The Cure and Mudhoney conjuring up all manner of adolescent fury.

Out now as a free download, ‘Virgin’ has a darkly nostalgic vibe – worthy of, say, Radiohead’s much neglected ‘Pablo Honey’ full length.

Given the visual treatment, the video for ‘Virgin’ only enhances these themes.
